DIRECTOR OF BANDS
Doug Rogers
Doug Rogers is the Director of Bands at Alexandria City High School. His teaching responsibilities include directing the three concert bands (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Concert Band). Percussion Ensemble, the Jazz Program (Two Jazz Bands and a Jazz Combo) and the Marching Titans. Prior to his appointment to Alexandria City HS, Mr. Rogers taught various elementary schools in ACPS since 2000. He has teaching experience in Tennessee, Texas, and California. Mr. Rogers has taught the ACPS summer music program for several years and has been director for the All-City Band. Mr. Rogers holds degrees from Tennessee Technological University and The University of North Texas. He has done DMA work at Catholic University. Mr. Rogers is an active performer in the DMV, performing regularly with The Symphony of the Potomac, Dominion Brass, The Olney Big Band, Big Band Tradition, Difficult Run Jazz Band, and the Vaughn Ambrose Big Band. He is currently music director of the Capitol Lab Band.
